Since 1997, HHL led a phased, multi-year restoration and reconstruction project of a National Historic Landmark, originally designed by Eliel and Eero Saarinen in 1939. This historic venue for the performing arts is home to the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Buffalo Chamber Music Society.

The phased projects included extensive ADA compliant renovations, including vertical access lifts, new handicapped seating areas, complete exterior masonry restoration, complete interior restoration of all spaces, new energy saving mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems appropriate to the variable use building, reconstruction of the reflecting pool, and renovation of the lower-level Henry’s Restaurant. In 2006, HHL Architects worked with Acoustic Dimensions to evaluate acoustical conditions and assist in restoration of interior surfaces to ensure optimal sound performance of the main concert hall and chamber music/recital hall auditorium.
