Kleinhans Music Hall

A phased, multi-year restoration and reconstruction project of a National Historic Landmark, originally designed by Eliel & Eero Saarinen in 1939. This venue for the performing arts is home to the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. The phased projects began in 2002 and included extensive ADA compliant renovations including vertical access lifts, complete exterior masonry restoration, complete interior restoration of all spaces, new energy saving mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems appropriate to the variable use building, reconstruction of the reflecting pool, and renovation of the lower level Henry's Restaurant at Kleinhans. In 2006, HHL Architects worked with Acoustic Dimensions to evaluate acoustical conditions and assist in restoration of interior surfaces to ensure optimal sound performance of the main concert hall and chamber music/recital hall auditorium.
