HHL Architects designed this Master Plan for Canisius College focusing on assessing existing programs, as well as spaces and buildings within and around the campus, all based on projected enrollment changes over the next decade. We considered appropriate sites for new housing, expanded athletic facilities, and adaptive reuse of existing buildings for office, classroom, and performance uses. It is the road map enabling the college to make capital improvements based on an overall discipline rather than on localized pressing needs.

Follow-up activities included the redesign of Main Street, fronting the college, and several building renovations. Included in the Master Plan process was educational programming developed from the college’s published goals; surveys of existing buildings, exterior space and systems, and the development of a final plan including a phased capital budget.
